Lisa Ko is a Californian born writer raised by Chinese immigrant parents who have lived in Hong Kong before moving to the United States. Cantonese was her first language. She started learning English when she was five years old. She continuously discovers the complexity of hybrid identities in her daily life, sometimes feeling neither American nor Chinese. Lisa is currently the managing director of an interdisciplinary journal, Anastamos.
We are a non-profit organisation that provides a platform for intercultural writers. We want their work to reach as many people as possible and therefore don't charge readers for the magazine. Want to help us?
