Adnan Adam Onart is a native of Istanbul, from Tatar grandparents, and lives in Boston. His work has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Colere Magazine, Red Wheel Barrow, and The Massachusetts Review, among others. He was awarded an honorable mention in the 2007 New England Poetry Club Erika Mumford Award. He is one of the winners of 2011 Nazim Hikmet Poetry Competition. Adnan Onart writes in a dialect of American English spoken by first generation immigrants.
