Steffi came to the door.  “He’s not doing well.  The doctor says it’s a different type of wound.”

“A different type?”

“He says Wilhelm has given up.  He doesn’t want to live anymore.”  She looked briefly to his bedroom door.  “He went to the forest while I was sleeping last night.  I was so tired that I didn’t hear it.  Our neighbor found him there early this morning, unconscious.”

“He’s looking for her.”

“Yes.  I almost believe that he can’t live without her.”  Steffi paused.  “And he’s been talking to her all morning long in his sleep.”  She pointed to his closed door.  A delirious voice answered.

“Princess?  Where are you?”
