Refill your water bottle heart with
something stronger:
one final fad detox
of the greasy names
they poured down your throat
until they became part of you,
and your sweat was “half-caste”
and your spit cried “mud blood”
and you walked on the egg shells
they threw when your house wasn’t
Your shoes are sticky,
but you arrived clean.
